Most Embarrassing Fishing Story? Was fishing for trevally in Oman. I was using hooks between 2/0-6/0 so big saltwater hooks with the barbs still intact. I hang the hooks on the side of my backpack to dry before putting them in my fly box which prevents rusting. We were just about to end a long run with the boat, I was sitting down with my backpack on the floor between my legs. I decided to change my fly, so I pulled my backpack straight up which sent a big barbed hook straight in to my nethers. I started screaming immediately as I was in intense pain. The people I was with started videoing the situation instead of helping (which speaks highly of their character). After a few moments, which felt like hours, I was able to get the hook out. The next beach we stopped at I didn’t wade deeper than knee deep as to not attract any sharks. No s*** this actually happened.
