Let's do our part and keep fish wet!

In the summer heat, it's important we as anglers protect the fish and fish responsibly. Grab a thermometer, reduce fight times, use proper rubber nets, keep fish wet, and release fish quickly!

Check out Keep Fish Wet's tips here.

Follow Local Regulations

know where you're fishing & what the rules are

In Alberta, the best place to be aware of our local regulations is www.albertaregulations.ca.

Watch Water Temps

use a thermometer

Check out this useful chart from flyfishermen.com.

Use Rubber Nets

less abrasion = less damage

"Rubber nets are less abrasive and do less damage to fish slime, scales, fins, and gills than knotted nylon mesh nets.  Plus, hooks don't snag as much on rubber nets, which can help reduce time in captivity." - Keep Fish Wet

Release Fish Quick

limit fight time & release fish as soon as possible

Fish barbless hooks and use hook removal tools to get the fish back in the water as soon as possible.

As anglers we all have a role to play in the future of our fisheries! Let's make sure that we do our part and keep those fish healthy and happy for future fishing days ahead. Cheers!
