Southern Alberta Fishing Reports

Southern Alberta Mountain Streams

After the high water period during Stampede week our mountains streams have cleared and are fishable again.  Its been a mixed bag in terms of bugs.  Anyone who's been fortunate enough to hit a green drake hatch with us has had incredible fishing, and yet some of our biggest fish in the mountains have come off of tiny midge patterns.  There has also been the odd day without any bugs, and many of those days have resulted in very challenging fishing with smaller numbers of fish, but often still real quality cutthroat.

We've had pure westslope cutthroat to 21" and cutbows to almost 24". There have been a few nice bulls showing up in the mix as well in that 30" range, which are always welcome.
