Kara, Tim, and Dec will be available for private lessons on the Sunday, June 7th. Additionally, we'll also have Dec instructing two 4-hour Steelhead Clinics on the next day, Sunday (you can register here).
Tim is World Champion Spey Caster, placing 1st in 2024 and 2nd in 2025's Spey-O-Rama competition! He has a wealth of information on line selection, rod/line matching and mending techniques. Tim designed, developed and created Bridge Fly Fishing Lines and knows more about Spey Line designs than most Spey Casters you'll ever come across because of this.
Dec is a highly regarded steelhead guide, two-handed rod expert, and fly-fishing author. He is one of North America's most passionate and experienced spey veterans of all time with decades of expertise in and around the Skagit, Sauk, Skykomish, Grande Ronde, and Deschutes Rivers.
Kara was first introduced to Spey Casting while working at a lodge on the BC coast. Through over two decades of steelheading on rivers like the Thompson, Bulkley & Kispiox, including 10 years managing a lodge on the Dean River, Kara has developed a deep passion for Spey Casting. In 2012, she was invited to compete in the annual Jimmy Green ‘Speyorama’ in San Francisco. She has since competed 9 times, securing podium standings nearly every year she has attended. In 2024, Kara won the Women’s event for the first time, and did so again in 2026, while also setting a new Speyorama record for Women’s Longest Cast (157 ft).
