The Bow River is a world renowned tailwater fishery that originates in our Rocky Mountains in Banff National Park, but uniquely enough does not become the world class Blue Ribbon Trout stream until after it gets downstream of Calgary. The Dam on the upstream edge of Calgary ensures stable flows and water temps, while multiple water treatment plants, golf courses and agriculture land and massive amounts of nutrients to the water that in turn supports a rich amount of vegetation and weeds. Weeds support bug life and bugs are fish food! The Bow is a trophy fishery with wild trophy rainbow and brown trout that will rival virtually any Brown and rainbow trout fishery on the planet. With the strength, stamina and acrobatic nature of wild fish, these fish keep anglers from around the globe coming back year after year.
