From the dust jacket:
Thomas “Tom” Dorsey’s life has been anything but a straight and narrow line. He came from a poor immigrant family, often struggling along with their neighbors to etch out a place in the world. Searching for Telos: With a History of Thomas & Thomas Rod Co. is his story.
When he was young, Tom turned to a lifestyle of crime and gang membership to find acceptance, a sort of safety, and a modicum of normal. However, he soon turned a new leaf to pursue academia and music.
After securing a BA in Philosophy from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, he began teaching philosophy during a Ph.D. Fellowship program at the University of Maryland.
Throughout his career, Tom worked extensively as a professional bass player. In 1969 and along with his brother-in-law Thomas Maxwell, Tom threw academics to the wind and established Thomas & Thomas Rod Co. The company is now an industry leader and grows in popularity every year.
Walk alongside Tom as he recounts the most pivotal moments in his life; from learning hard, painful truths to beautiful, once-in-a-lifetime moments. Discover his love and passion for fly fishing, his search for meaning, and the rise of an innovator whose creations span generations.
